Is Sun Basket Meal Delivery Worth It?

is-sun-basket-meal-delivery-worth-it

Lately, the kids have been sick.  I was ill and then every week for four weeks it has been a different kid.  I’m sure you can relate with me that when kids are sick or even mama, there’s no way in you know what that dinner is going to be more than cereal.  When I found out about meal delivery with Sun Basket, I was all for it! But are Sun Basket meals worth it?

What is Sun Basket

Sun Basket Meals are organic gourmet weekly meal kits shipped directly to you.  Sun Basket also offers Paleo, Gluten Free, and Vegan.  They are quick recipes made for busy people.  Healthy meals made easy.  You can also mix and match 18 weekly recipes.

Sun Basket is also a USDA organic handler.  All of their meats are antibiotic and hormone free.  The seafood is wild caught, the ingredients are pre-measured, so there is less food waste — these meals designed for two adults and two children. Usually, there are leftovers.  If your family is larger Sun Basket can adjust to fit your needs.

What is different about Sun Basket

I noticed that the recipes are simple and the directions are quick, not complicated.  The one Sun Basket meal I made took about 25 minutes.  They are the only meal delivery service that provides organic, gluten-free, paleo and vegan meals.  The packaging is all recyclable.  But is Sun Basket worth it?

The answer is yes! Our Sun Basket meal is quite possibly the best meal I have ever made.  I don’t have to go to the grocery store multiple times a week or ask my family what they want for dinner; Sun Basket is a lifesaver! Getting to the grocery store a few times a week is time-consuming and exhausting.

Our experience with Sun Basket

Our family loved our meal with Sun Basket, and I will say it is worth it.  We had Chicken cacciatore with cauliflower mash.  Cauliflower mash? Yes, and the kids didn’t even notice that it was cauliflower! In the pic below is my son Liam and he liked the chicken and the cauliflower mash.

There is also a section in the recipe book where it has tips for the kids to help make the dinners.  No there were no leftovers. This meal was delicious.  We all had second helpings.  I don’t think I have ever had dinner ready this quickly when I’m cooking a meal like this.  It helped to have all the ingredients pre-measured.

Your kids will enjoy it, I know how hard it can be to eat healthy because of the food challenges of picky eaters!

I will have to try it. Since I have to eat gluten-free, it can be hard coming up with meals and recipes all the time. This might be just what I need. Thanks!

I think meal delivery services are a wonderful option. By the time you factor in everything it takes to prepare, shop for ingredients, & plan what your makes…something like this makes so much sense! The price isn’t bad at all either!

I tried Plated a really long time ago and enjoyed it! I love how many options there are out there now – every price point and dietary restrictions. I don’t know if meal delivery would ever be a part of my weekly routine (because I’m a weirdo and I love grocery shopping!!!) but I can see myself using these kinds of services when I know I have a crazy, busy week ahead or even when I’m on vacation and staying somewhere with a kitchen to limit the number of ingredients I had to buy.
